Science World

We had good friends come and visit us this week so we decided to have a family fun day with them. We pulled Sam out of school for the day and headed into Vancouver so we could visit Science World. Sam has been talking about Science World for months so he was pretty excited that we were actually going.
I couldn't remember the last time I had been here... it may not have been since Expo 86!
Science World has a special LEGO feature on right now. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the dragon behind the kids is made of lego! There were also several replicas of real castles made of lego... it was pretty impressive.
There is also a dinosaur feature that the kids enjoyed. I'm surprised they weren't scared by the dinosaurs cause they looked pretty life like to me.
There is so much to play with. They kids could stay there for days and not get bored.
Luke's favorite part was the extra long stroller ride. We're thankful he is such a content baby so it's easy to do these sorts of activites.

Fort Langley

Spring Break is over for us already.... and it rained almost the entire time! There was one day though when the sun came out so we packed up the family and headed down the road to Fort Langley.
The Fort was more kid friendly than I expected and we had a great time watching the demonstrations and exploring all the buildings.
The Blacksmith made a hook for Maarti because she helped him pick up pieces of iron after he cut them.
Jeremy's favorite part of the day was the musket demonstration. I didn't get a lot out of it because I was too busy making sure the kids covered there ears at the right time... it was very loud.
Sam was determined to find gold, but was unsuccessful. It didn't matter though... when we entered the Fort the kids were given an activity book and because they completed the activities in it they were given keychains at the end. Keychains and gold are apparently pretty comparable treasures to Sam and he came away very happy.
We had a super fun day and will go again soon.
It's fun to be a tourist in your own town!

I'm Getting Old

Three posts in one day! That must be a record or something, but my kids are on a role with being hilarious so I have to write it down so I don't forget one day... and that day when I start to forget things may just be coming faster than I thought!

Sam: Mom, how old will you be on your birthday?

Me: 37

Sam: Whoa! That sounds old!

Me: Do you think I look old?

Sam: No... But you might on your next birthday!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Yesterday we had fun making Shamrock cookies for St. Patrick's Day... Maarti kept asking "What kind of rocks are these again?"
As we were decorating them I was trying to tell them about St. Patrick and the significance of the shamrock. I thought they understood what I was saying, but apparently my explaination wasn't as clear as I thought it was. This morning Maarti came running into our bedroom yelling "Wake up Daddy! We're going to Ireland today!!". She's going to be pretty disappointed to find out that what we are actually doing today is catching up on laundry!... At least we have some delicious cookies on hand to ease the pain!

Cute

Yesterday I was doing Maarti's hair and she sweetly asked "Can you put a muffin in it?"

I think she meant a bun.
