Adjusting...

I've had two days on my own with the kids as Jeremy went back to work on Thursday. Maartina is a great baby and Sam is a really good big brother too... I still have to watch him though!!! Maartina is still a novelty and Sam loves to touch her and hold her hand. I hear him say "ba-by" many times a day!

waiting...

Sorry about the long silence. We've just been waiting for baby to arrive... hopefully we'll get to meet him or her this week.

In the meantime I've been baking.

Chocolate chip cookies... What could be better when you are waiting for your sibling to arrive?!!

Clean Water for Haiti

Today in Church Jeremy had the opportunity to represent Clean Water for Haiti (CWH). He loves doing this kind of thing and his display and talk generated a lot of interest in the mission so all in all it was pretty encouraging. CWH makes biosand water filters and educates people about clean water and how to maintain the filters. Each filter costs $50 to make and they are sold for $5. Haiti is considered the most water impoverished country in the world so these filters are desperately needed.
For more info check out the web site: www.cleanwaterforhaiti.org
Here is a picture of our display... obviously Sam was more interested in running around the gym than posing for a picture!!! Typical!!

Another recommendation...

I just had a great reading weekend!!! It had been a while since I've read a novel so I thought it was time. If you read novels add this one to your list. It is the story of a teenager who runs away from his old order Amish roots and his life long struggle to come to grips with his past and his father's rejection. The characters are very real... it's refreshing to read a book where not everyone is perfect and not everything gets tied up with a pretty pink bow at the end. Anyway, read it for yourself and tell me what you think.

A recent card.

I haven't had a lot of time for stamping lately, but I did make this one recently. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I think it is growing on me.
