Love it!

When we put the kids to bed tonight (@ 7:00 pm) it was with strict instructions that there was to be NO TALKING. Five minutes later I heard a bit of a ruckus coming from their room so I went to tell them to be quiet. Of course Sam had something to say: "But Mom, Maarti started singing in the middle of the night and I can't sleep!!"
It's so hard to lay down the law when I'm trying so hard to not let them see me smile!

Enquiring Minds Want to Know

Jeremy, at one point, made a comment about finding me and marrying me. Maarti must have been thinking of this for a long time because today she had a question for me:

"Mommy, were you hiding when Daddy find you and marry you?"

Oh, That Sam...

Tonight we had a blast visiting some relatives that we don't see nearly enough. We met for dinner and then decided to head over to my dad's cousin's house for some more visiting. On our way over Sam pipes up from the backseat... "If I start to cry when you say it's time to go home don't panic, okay Mom?!"

And then...

When we got home and put the kids to bed we could hear the neighbor playing his music louder than we appreciate. Over his music I heard Sam in bed saying "Dear Jesus, please help us to have neighbors that don't play their music so loud. Amen."

Enjoying the High Life (for one evening anyway!)

A few days ago our friends, Andrew and Marie, called and invited us to a hockey game... and not just a hockey game... a Vancouver Giants game from Michael Bublé's BC Children's Hospital suite! We aren't easily star struck with celebrities, but it's hard not to be impressed with such generosity. When we got there we enjoyed the snacks and drinks that were available and we were told to order whatever we wanted from White Spot. Michael's Dad came to meet us and make sure we were being well taken care of. The kids had a ball and I have a feeling that any other hockey game they go to in the future might be a bit of a let down. Thanks Andrew and Marie for inviting us to join you!

That's My Girl

We are all struggling with the cold that everyone in our town seems to have right now. It just does not go away! Maarti had a couple of especially rough days with it last week. Then at one point she just started to feel better.

How do I know?

Well... she got herself up off the couch and started to accessorize of course!

Caught in a Lie

Often when I catch Sam doing something he shouldn't he'll ask me how I saw him doing it. I once used the typical Mom response "I have eyes in the back of my head".

Fast forward to this morning.

We had been grocery shopping and on the way home he was doing something in the back seat and wanted me to look. I said "I can't look back there because I'm driving!". His reply: "Well Mom, you could just look with the eyes in the back of your head!".

I can't decide if he was being cheeky or if he really thinks I do have eyes back there!
