Zoo Day

Yesterday was the first sunny Saturday we've had in weeks and weeks so we decided to spend it at the zoo. Yay for zoo passes!!!... one of my best birthday presents ever! We were also trying out the new wagon we got for Christmas. It worked out great! I'm hoping we are pretty much done with winter so we can have lots more zoo days.

'Tis The Season

About a month ago Sam came home from Sunday School with a couple pieces of paper. It turned out to be the songs I have to teach him for the Sunday School Christmas Concert.... There were four of them!! (That's right... FOUR!!! Sam is TWO!!) Now, a miracle worker I am not, but I decided to give it my best shot. Right now the concert is a week out and he can sing about 2/3's of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". I keep telling myself that no one wants to see the toddlers sing it perfectly... the only reason people go to these things is to see the two year olds fight over the mic, wave and yell "Grandma" and generally do their own thing.
For a while during our "music lessons" Sam would start crying "No twinkle!" the minute I started singing, but the last few days I've caught him singing it by himself. It's terribly cute!! "Twinkle tar, shining brightly far" And that's all he knows of the song, but thankfully those two lines are sung twice, so that's why I can say he knows 2/3's of it!!

Tagged

Apparently there is someone who reads my blog, and apparently she got tired of waiting for me to post something so she decided to motivate me with a tag.
So, Krista, here is my list...

SIX UNSPECTACULAR THINGS ABOUT ME
1. I have hated the color of my bathroom since the day we painted it. It has been a couple of years now, but we just can't seem to find the time to re-paint. Although... we did just buy paint so that gives a person reason to hope.
2. I'm totally intrigued by the Duggar family of (17 Kids and Counting). Wow!! 18 kids!! I have no desire to following in their footsteps! (Especially right now as I'm trying to survive this teething stage with Maarti!! I certainly wouldn't sign up to do this 16 more times!)
3. My prefered radio station while driving: 93.7 JRFM
4. I like watching home reno shows on TLC
5. I will always wear glasses cause I'm too chicken for contacts or laser surgery.
6. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for Winnie the Pooh!?!! I'm not sure how that happened, but I'm continually being given Pooh Bear gifts. I'll admit he's kinda cute, but to be honest (and I hope this won't offend anyone) Winnie the Pooh isn't my first choice for home decor or fashion statement.

Okay... so there it is. Now I tag: Katie, Sarah, Leanne, Christine, Teri and Jen

Here are the rules for this tag....
Rules:
1). Link the person that tagged you.
2).Mention the rules on your own blog.
3). List 6 unspectacular things about you.
4).Taggify 6 other bloggers

So Productive

My sister and her family were here for the weekend. They came to help us paint our house. It's so great to have relatives who are willing to pitch in. The house was a summer project that we never quite got to so when my brother-in-law offered to help of course we said "yes"!! The guys did all the painting while my sister and I spent the day telling our kids to use their "inside voices". I don't know who was more pooped by the end of the day!
Today we are having our bathroom floor tiled so my next impossible task for the next 48 hours is to keep Sam out of the bathroom that doesn't have a door on it right now!!! Sheesh! Doing renos with small children in the house is NOT recommended!!

What a mess of emotions!

It has been an Awefully. Long. Time since I have updated and I know that some of you (by "some" I mean Teri) are looking for pictures of the kiddies. Sorry you'll have to keep waiting... I'll try and add some soon.
I just wanted to say this stage of kids starting to talk is the absolute funnest!!! The other day Sam put a two word sentence together all by himself and can you guess what it was?!!... "Hold Baby?" How cute is that?!!! Especially when you see him say it with his chubby little arms stretched out for his sister! Love that little boy!
In other kid news: Maarti laughed at me the other day! Love the toothless smiles that she is so willing to hand out.
Now for the news that is making me sad... I just found out last night that a girl I used to work with just lost her husband. They were traveling to visit her family and came across an accident. He got out to help and was hit by another car and killed. They have a toddler and she is 10 weeks pregnant. Keep Tara in your prayers. I can't imagine what it would be like to be in her situation.
I am reminded once again to enjoy every moment I have with the ones I love.

Smiley Kids

This is how Sam ususally looks after coming home from playing with his buddy Caleb... Doesn't matter how many toys are in the yard they want to play in the dirt!!

And here is our little girl. I love it when they get to the stage where they start smiling! And boy, is it fun dressing her up!! Jeremy just shakes his head everytime I decide it's "fashion show time" (which is quite often!!!).
